How Our Journey Began
Fort Lauderdale Concrete Solutions was based on an easy-to-see truth: almost all of South Florida’s concrete contractors take the same steps for all of their jobs, regardless of local weather issues, soil type, etc. We have seen many homes where the concrete has completely failed long before it should have, due to contractors ignoring the fact that there is a very high water table in Fort Lauderdale. We have also seen many driveways that were cracked after just a few years of service from contractors that did not properly prepare the base of the driveway prior to pouring the concrete. We have talked to many homeowners who had initial satisfaction with their new concrete patio or driveway, but found out shortly thereafter that their new “patio” or “driveway” was already failing.
Our goal in starting Fort Lauderdale Concrete Solutions was to do things differently when it came to installing concrete in the South Florida area; we wanted to engineer every one of our installations to be successful under the unique environmental conditions of Fort Lauderdale rather than using generic installation procedures that may succeed in other locations but will fail in Fort Lauderdale’s coastal environment.
We have successfully installed hundreads of concrete driveways, patios, foundations, and walkways in Fort Lauderdale and Broward County and every one of these projects helps us learn even more about the different types of soils found in the Fort Lauderdale area, how the drainage systems are laid out and what installation techniques will give the homeowner the longest life expectancy of their newly poured concrete.

Our Values
Engineering Over Guesswork: We do not base our determination of how thick to pour concrete based on guesses of what load it will be subjected to; we determine this by calculating it based on those loads. We do not guess about how to drain water off your slab (we will measure your yard to determine where water will run off); we will also find out how many inches of rain per year fall in your area, so we can properly design the drainage system. When designing the amount of rebar to put in your slab, we are guided by established rules of structural engineers, not by guesswork.
Telling the Truth: If we think that overlay will not solve the problems you have with your old concrete, we will tell you. If you want to start your new concrete sooner than is necessary to let it cure properly, we will tell you why that is not possible. If there is a way to build your concrete floor cheaper and still make it last, we will suggest it. Our business model is to develop long-term relationships with clients, not to maximize profit at the expense of client satisfaction.
Using Quality Materials: We buy our concrete from suppliers who have a consistent quality control program in place. We use corrosion-resistant reinforcing steel in all our concrete projects since most of our customers live in the coastal area of Florida. We apply a sealer specifically designed to protect your concrete from the ultraviolet rays of the sun in Florida. While material cost is a relatively small portion of the overall project cost, using low-quality materials to save a few dollars can cut into the overall longevity of your project.
Following Established Rules of Practice: We follow the recommended practices set forth by the American Concrete Institute and local building codes because these recommendations were developed through decades of research and practical experience. The shortcuts that may save time or money in the short term will ultimately cause problems with your concrete project. We will do things correctly the first time.
Treating Your Property With Respect: We treat your property with respect while we are working on your project. We take care to protect the plants and landscaping near our work area. We clean up every evening before leaving your property. We will try to limit the impact on your daily routine as much as possible.

We are purchasing new, more efficient equipment that will allow us to improve how quickly we install our products without diminishing their quality. We will continue to research new and better concrete technologies that may provide either improved performance characteristics or be more sustainable than current products. Our process is continuously being refined by lessons learned from our experiences in the field and by feedback received from clients.
